Wendy M. Bowen is admitted to practice in state and federal courts of South Carolina, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She holds a B.A. in History from the College of Charleston and a J.D. from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law School in New York. Currently, Wendy is advancing her knowledge by pursuing a Doctorate in Law and Public Policy.

Her legal career began with a passion for advocating on behalf of domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, providing both representation in family courts and professional education on these issues. After five years of exclusively practicing family law, she served as a prosecutor for the City of Florence, South Carolina, followed by her role as managing attorney at the South Carolina Department of Social Services.

Wendy is now the owner of Lighthouse Family Law, LLC, based in Columbia, SC, where she focuses solely on family law matters. Her practice is rooted in emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and holistic services, providing comprehensive support to clients navigating difficult family dynamics. As a Certified Mediator for Family Law and a member of the South Carolina Family Law Council with the South Carolina State Bar Association, Wendy is committed to finding thoughtful, resolution-oriented solutions for her clients.

Outside of her law practice, Wendy founded Learn2Love: Being Her, a platform dedicated to helping women embrace their power and resilience. Through the Learn2Love Academy, she offers both online and in-person courses focused on emotional intelligence, personal growth, and navigating complex relationships. This initiative reflects her holistic approach, blending legal expertise with personal development to support women at all stages of life.

Wendy’s community involvement is equally notable. She is a Bronze Member of the National Association of Counsel for Children, a member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and the American Bar Association, and is actively engaged in councils and committees focused on preventing family and dating violence. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

As she builds her law firm, Wendy is working to open Family Options, a supervised visitation and mediation center in Richland and Chesterfield counties.
